Maintaining high organisational performance in E&P with digital technology

How Malaysian oil and gas companies are leading the world in their use of digital technology

Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Kuala Lumpur, ADAX, Bangsar South

Malaysia's oil and gas digital technology leaders are meeting in KL in October 9-10 for the 7th Digital Energy Journal forum, organised together this year with MDEC, the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation, with speakers from PETRONAS, MOGSC, Bumi Armada, Cairn India and NOEX Exploration.

We aim to help explain and further understanding about the complex digital world and where the business benefits are.

Our first day - agenda below - will look at how companies are using digital technology to improve their overall profitability - including safety and efficiency - including how they manage exploration data, determine where to drill, manage production and manage facilities.

The second day will look at how the oil and gas industry is providing many opportunities for people with data science and digital technology expertise, to be part of these efforts to take the industry further.

A modern data platform to improve predictions and company performance

Talk Description.
I think every oil company in the world has now entered Digital Transformation. We have high hopes for the improvements that data science and advanced analytics can bring. But I’m sure you all remember the phrase “garbage in, garbage out”. What do we need to do to ensure our data is up to the task, and how do we move away from the situation where 80% or more of every analytics project is spent on data wrangling?
An experienced Information Management consultant with excellent analytical skills, Jane has focused on Information Management in Upstream Oil and Gas since 2000.
With many years of experience inside Landmark and Schlumberger Information Solutions, Jane has had exposure to most O&G software applications and data management strategies, and has detailed knowledge of the current IM offerings in the Oil and Gas space.
A desire to bring the best of modern data management tools and technologies into Upstream Oil and Gas triggered Jane's move to Teradata, the leaders in Enterprise Data Warehousing.
