ABOUT DIGITAL ENERGY JOURNAL
Digital Energy Journal tells the story of how the upstream oil and gas industry is using new digital technology to improve the effectiveness of its operations, and making the most of its available resources – including the resources in the ground, its exploration technology and capability, its capital, its equipment, and most of all, its people and ability to attract new talent into the industry.
Digital Energy Journal is a magazine for people working with oil and gas, who need to keep up to date with the latest industry practise and technology, so you can maximise your effectiveness.
For example, in our June-July 2008 issue, you could read about a new technology to find oil and gas by looking for very low frequency waves known to be emitted from wherever oil and gas deposits lie. You can learn about new technology which could increase oil and gas production if only professionals had more access to it, according to 89 per cent of oil and gas professionals surveyed.
You can learn about fairly simple ways to put together much better structural models, and better ways to calculate rock porosity and permeability. You can learn which technologies StatoilHydro expects to use to increase production by 5 per cent and reduce operating, construction and maintenance costs by 30 per cent.
The magazine is published only 6 times a year - make sure you don't miss out on the next issue, by subscribing - subscriptions are just GBP 195 a year. We also have a free e-mail newsletter, sent out approximately biweekly.
Digital Energy Journal is edited by Karl Jeffery, a leading oil and gas / maritime and IT journalist, and graduate chemical engineer from Nottingham University.
You'll like Digital Energy Journal because it is clearly written and presented - we don't use technical jargon to try to sound clever, but put the reader's interests first, making sure you can quickly judge whether or not an article is relevant to you, and if so, get the most useful information out of it as quickly as possible.
We also offer a free social networking service, where you can get in touch with fellow professionals working in the industry, and make it easier for them to get in touch with you. You can get in touch with people both privately and publicly. To join the service, click here.
Talented oil and gas professionals around the world are turning to Digital Energy Journal so they can keep up to date with new developments. How about you?
