Integrated Gravity and Magnetic Modelling Plug-in Now Available for the Petrel E&P Software Platform

ARKeX, the geophysical services provider, has recently launched their XField plug-in for the Petrel E&P Software Platform, which enables seismic interpreters to analyse and seamlessly integrate potential field data (gravity, magnetic and gravity gradiometry) alongside seismic data. Geological models can be generated with more accuracy and confidence than was previously possible, reducing exploration uncertainty, risk and cost.

XField was developed to enable seismic interpreters to use gravity and magnetic data without requiring specialist training. The simple to use software is fully certified and integrated into Petrel, providing users with an improved geological understanding through the ability to build better, more comprehensive, de-risked geological models.

'Having the ability to analyse and model potential field data in conjunction with seismic is a huge benefit to the whole exploration community; especially when it is in an integrated platform like Petrel', commented Chris Anderson, ARKeX EVP Sales. 'Creating geological models using XField allows interpreters to reduce exploration uncertainty and deliver a more robust interpretation.'

The ARKeX XField plug-in for Petrel is available for free trial and purchase on the Schlumberger Ocean* Store (www.ocean.slb.com).
