Absoft announces three director appointments

Friday, May 31, 2013

Absoft has announced it is expanding its leadership team with the appointment of three new business unit leaders through internal promotion.

Scott Simpson, 35, Debbie Mackenzie, 45, and Stan Cawsey, 47, make the step up as Absoft managing director Ian Mechie and operations director Don Valentine focus on their roles as overall heads of the company.

Mr Simpson has been appointed director of the oil and gas business unit, while Mrs Mackenzie becomes director of Absoft's public sector unit which includes the local authority and higher education sectors, and Mr Cawsey leads the manufacturing team.

Ian Mechie, managing director, said the appointments are a key element of Absoft's growth plan, following the significant success the company has achieved in the last three years during which it has grown from 68 to 126 employees.

Founded in 1991, Absoft saw pre-tax profits soar 168 percent to £738,177 in 2011, on revenues up 36 per cent at £8.35million, following which the business expanded into Norway with the opening of an office in Stavanger targeted at the energy sector.

Absoft expanded its service offering in 2012 with the acquisition of Hexarus Consulting, a specialist provider of performance management and business intelligence solutions, which is now a fully integrated part of the company, forming Absoft's cross-sector capabilities in business analytics and technology.

Mr Mechie, a founding director of Absoft, and Mr Valentine will now focus on managing Absoft's service delivery and strategy, to ensure continuity for clients as it grows its team and looks toward further expansion.

Absoft was recently awarded Gold Partner status in the UK by SAP, recognising its quality in product support, development of new solutions, proven industry experience and high levels of customer satisfaction as well as sales performance.

Absoft further strengthened its senior team with the appointment of highly experienced business leader Peter Drury as its first chairman which it announced towards the end of 2012.
