GE remote monitoring centre in Hungary

Friday, November 25, 2011

GE Measurement and Control Solutions, part of GE Oil and Gas, has set up a remote condition monitoring centre in Fót, Hungary, a town 17km north of Budapest.

It will provide continuous monitoring and diagnostic services for GE customers.

'Remote configuration and remote monitoring are fast helping customers in power generation, oil and gas and the process sector to realize significant cost savings and improve plant availability,' the company says.

Specialists continuously gather customer data on specific metrics, perform machine oversight, detect trends and approaching issues and provide troubleshooting support.

Instant response, without the travel time and delay associated with a site engineer visit, can result in crises being averted and machinery being saved.

Further benefits can be increased machine efficiency, reduced risk of damage, lower operating expenses, extended intervals between outages, fewer forced outages and reduced repair times.
