IDS and Kongsberg digital in cooperation

Friday, April 28, 2017

New collaboration between IDS and KDI will optimize business processes for customers within drilling and well construction and allow further expansion, integration and analysis of real-time and reporting data.

John Hanson, founder of IDS, says, 'IDS has reached a point in its growth where we have built tools to analyse very large quantities of data, 'big data' if you like, and we have access to a fair database of our own. Strictly from a data point of view alone, collaboration with Kongsberg is a perfect opportunity for both companies to have access to a much broader range, a greater velocity and variety of data and also to bring our analytics to bear on that data.'

KDI's VP of Drilling & Wells, Atle Høgberg, says 'This recent extension of IDS' reporting and analytics capabilities to the SiteCom ecosystem of partners on the Kongsberg digital platform will provide significant improvements for all clients in search of a better understanding of operational efficiencies and performance improvement opportunities, both at macro-scale and while drilling. As we continue adding more partners and capabilities to our platform, our growing client base will see increasing opportunities to derive value from being able to capture, utilize and act on data-driven workflows across the traditional tasks happening today.'
