Ikon Science's RokDoc Ji-Fi: The "Double Triple"

Friday, December 9, 2016

Ikon Science announced that its revolutionary RokDoc Ji-Fi software has achieved three prestigious awards within the past 3 months:

• Ikon's Research Director Michael Kemper received an award from the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) for his 2016 Honorary Lectureships attended by over 1000 geoscientists explaining the roots and theory of RokDoc Ji-Fi
• The 2016 Technology award from the UK's Energy Institute (EI)
• The 2016 Innovation award from the Institute of Physics (IOP)

Furthermore, RokDoc-Ji-Fi has been taken up by three Supermajor software clients to date.

RokDoc Ji-Fi is a software system that generates robust and high fidelity 3D quantitative geological and fluid images from seismic data volumes, using rock physics and sophisticated mathematical analysis. RokDoc Ji-Fi has been developed in collaboration with Australia's Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Tullow Oil, who funded the project and provided well and seismic data to apply independent ground truth testing methods.

Martyn Millwood Hargrave, CEO of Ikon Science, said 'It's exciting to see the growing commercial acceptance and take up of RokDoc Ji-Fi both within the most demanding global Supermajor clients, as well as within innovative and fast moving Independent oil and gas companies. Through the use of RokDoc Ji-Fi many clients are solving difficult subsurface prediction problems and unlocking value in many different reservoirs. Significant applications include leading North and South American oil and gas shale plays, world class discoveries under development offshore South America and in the Gulf of Mexico - some of which are the deepest most challenging reservoirs currently being exploited, and high fidelity production prediction in late stage oil and gas fields worldwide.'
