OFS Portal / Tradeshift tie-up

Friday, October 5, 2012

OFS Portal, an oil and gas industry owned organisation which helps communication between buyers and sellers, has announced a tie-up with Tradeshift, a San Francisco company which claims to be the "the fastest growing, global B2B network and the industry leader in supplier onboarding."

OFS Portal members transact over $100bn every year.

Through the tie-up, OFS Portal members will be able to use the Tradeshift platform for exchanging data and doing transactions with oilfield customers.

Tradeshift is also involved in PEPPOL, a European project designed to create a universal invoicing interface for every government and public institution in Europe.

"Historically, enterprise software companies have taken advantage of their own customers, using restrictive practices to make it as hard and financially painful as possible to move to a superior service," says Christian Lanng, CEO of Tradeshift

"OFS Portal Members, like trading partners in other industries, want interoperability and efficiency.

"This agreement .. cements interoperability at the heart of the oil and gas business, creating new opportunity and freedom for all," stated William Le Sage, CEO of OFS Portal.

"The return on investment in e-commerce capabilities is dramatically increased through speed of adoption and flexibility."
