Petrosys' "dbMap/Web" gets PPDM gold compliance

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Subsurface mapping software company Petrosys reports that its "dbMap/Web" data management solution has been assessed to be in "gold compliance" with the Professional Petroleum Data Management Association (PPDM) version 3.8 standard.

The compliance test is designed to give the industry a high level of confidence in the implementation of PPDM standards in the software.

The designation is only applied to software that contains PPDM model definitions and references.

Petrosys submitted a proposal in early February for verification of conformance to PPDM Version 3.8 based on a total of 73 tables mapping to 12 PPDM modules related to well, seismic and GIS data.

'Petrosys is a committed long term supporter, user and contributor to the PPDM data model standard and the global professional data management community,' said Scott Tidemann, Global Sales Manager.

'Petrosys' products, services and professional staff continue to adopt an open and vendor neutral approach to information management to support our client's long term data management programs and needs.'

Being PPDM compliant "allows the product to be used in conjunction with data stores built by clients and other vendors with minimal reconfiguration and maximum user value," he said.
