Saturday, April 14, 2012

Petrosys, a company which makes subsurface mapping and data management software, has given licenses for its software to Curtin University Sarawak Campus, Malaysia.

The licenses have been donated under its "Petrosys Educational Software Grant Program," which aims to helps education of geoscientists by providing access to software.

Petrosys staff members Fuziana Rozalli and Andrew Weller provided two days of in-house training at the university in March 2012, attended by both staff and students of the University.

Dr. Nagarajan of the university said "'Indeed, it is mapping guru software - easy to learn and very useful."

Student Jacky Chen Zoon Jie said Petrosys is 'very user-friendly, easy to understand, [and has] great functionality'.

Students at Curtin University will now be making use of Petrosys in producing geological maps from their data for their final year projects.
