Schlumberger awarded subsea boosting contract

Wednesday, January 30, 2019

OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Equinor for the supply of the industry's first all-electric actuated subsea boosting system for the Vigdis Field in the Norwegian North Sea.

The scope of the contract includes a pump station, with a manifold foundation and protective structure; and a pump module, topside equipment, umbilical, and all-electric controls with electric actuation.

'We are delighted to be working with Equinor on the successful long-term development of the Vigdis Field through the delivery of a subsea boosting station,' said Don Sweet, president, OneSubsea, Schlumberger. 'Our field-proven boosting technology, including electric actuation, will deliver an increased level of digital monitoring and control-this will be a key enabler for increasing oil recovery and unlocking the field's full production potential, while reducing environmental impact.'

Work began in Bergen, Norway, in December 2018 and the first delivery is scheduled for February Q1 2020.
