Sonardyne completes final deliveries for Ashtead Technology

Thursday, December 19, 2013

With 2013 drawing to a close, Sonardyne International Ltd. has fulfilled the final deliveries of the year of 6G acoustic positioning technology to leading subsea equipment specialists, Ashtead Technology.

Sonardyne's Ranger 2 and Scout USBL positioning systems are designed for a wide variety of underwater tracking applications from navigating an ROV to installing structures.

The GyroUSBL transceivers now available from Ashtead further add to the rental appeal of Ranger 2. The unit is pre-calibrated so users can be operationally-ready in less than 60 minutes, reducing vessel time and costs whilst also making it easy to move from vessel to vessel.

Tim Sheehan, Commercial Director for Ashtead Technology commented, 'Throughout 2013, we've seen non-stop global demand for 6G and we expect this to continue unabated into next year. In the last few months alone, we've hired out GyroUSBLs for pipelay projects in the Gulf of Mexico, GyroCompatts for pipeline installations in Canada and Compatt transponders with autonomous monitoring and logging capabilities used for subsea structure monitoring in both the North Sea and Australia.'
