Friday, September 28, 2012

Dutch open source seismic interpretation software company dGB Earth Sciences has opened an office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

At its Rio office, the company will provide seismic interpretation services to Brazilian customers, and do geophysical research and software development.

dGB already has a number of Brazilian clients including Brazilian exploration company, OGX, where dGB's OpendTect was recently applied to a prospect delineation study in a marine environment, offshore Brazil.

dGB has also worked for Brazilian operator, Petrobras.

'Today's announcement is a real signal of intent from dGB in our ambitions to provide a completely global seismic interpretation solution to customers and offer the very best customer-directed applied development and research,' says Kristofer Tingdahl, CEO of dGB Earth Services.

'The geological complexity of many Brazilian fields is also tailor-made for our sophisticated seismic interpretation solution, OpendTect.

"We look forward to providing Brazil-based operators with the very latest applied development and research in seismic interpretation and a complete seismic environment for the processing, visualizing, and interpreting of multi-volume 2D, 3D, and 4D pre- and post-stack seismic data.'

The company already has offices in the Netherlands, Houston and Mumbai.
