Digital Energy Mumbai

How can India take better advantage of digital technology - and encourage startups - to improve E&P?

Thursday, September 29, 2016, Mumbai, Orchid Hotel, Mumbai

At our 2nd Digital Energy Journal conference in Mumbai on September 29, we'll look at ways India can take advantage of digital technology to develop its oil and gas industry and associated services.

We'll look at business opportunities for start-up software companies, developing tools such as governence tools, Good International Petroleum Industry Practices (GIPIP), bid monitoring, production monitoring, and supporting the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG).

In the subsurface realm, we'll look at ways to help explorers do more with E+P data including reservoir data, making better use of analytics and machine learning, and how to better manage national data respositories.

We'll learn how having better and faster ways to manage data can help geopscientists to be more productive and what the benefits are -

And how analytics can help reduce risk and increase profit in drilling and production.

Our opening speaker is Pranaya Sangvai - Business Unit Head with Reliance Industries Ltd.

We have delegates registered from Delegates registered from Bharat PetroResources, BG, Essar Oil, Halliburton, Larson and Toubro, Microsoft, ONGC, Reliance, Schlumberger, Shell - see the full list here

Encouraging oil and gas startups through digital business solutions

Talk Description.
The Indian Government's impetus on "Digital India," encouraging startups in different industries, along with focus on efficient governance with transparency can be a real game changer for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) of Govt of India, provided certain measures are adopted at the earliest.

Recently we had come across circulars on Gas Pricing, Good International Petroleum Industry Practices (GIPIP), Bid Round of Small Discovered Fields, Meeting with Operators/Contractors on PSC Regime, Hydrocarbon Exploration Licensing Policy (HELP).

Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) of Govt of India, has always been in headlines for Energy Security Assurance.
In a diverse, perhaps unique, 29 year career in the E&P sector I have been fortunate to be associated with exploration of no of Indian basins. After working in geophysical data acquisition, like 2D/3D/4D seismic, GM, in the initial stage of career I switched over in mid-career to producing field for improving the oil production followed by adoption of technologies in advanced seismic data processing like PreSDM, AVO/Inversion, Electro-Magnetic (CSEM) & MMT. Also availed this opportunity to work on new technologies of multibeam, soil coring, geotechnical surveys and geochemical analysis. This span also witnessed establishment of Virtual Reality Centres, Real Time Operation Centres for drillin
