Digital Energy Journal's 6th Kuala Lumur exploration and production data conference will be held on October 3rd - Oct 4th, looking at where PETRONAS and other Malaysian companies are leading the world in their management of data quality, and their use of digital tools, to improve situation awareness.

This year the first day will focus on the digital platforms - (data quality, data management, data integration)
And the second day will focus on workforce assistance tools - including analytics, data science and AI.

9:15 Philip Lesslar - Data solutions consultant - Precision DM Status of data quality metrics with regulators He is from Miri in Malaysia. He started his career as a biostratigrapher specializing in quantitative techniques but subsequently in data management roles accumulating over 40 years of experience. He has worked in team lead and principal consultant roles in micropaleontology, data, data quality management and data science, primarily in Malaysia but also doing various assignments in the Netherlands (The Hague, Rijswijk) and US (Houston, TX). His special interests include data quality metrics, quantification of data management business benefits and probabilistic paleo-environmental interpretation based on foraminifera. He now runs Precision-DM, a data solutions consulting company. He has developed and produced 2 multimedia CDs, co-authored a book on the geology of Miri and is also the main author of the 3 part “Data Quality Metrics” guide published under Energistics. He and his wife exercise and play badminton as much as they can. They have 2 children and travel is a priority on the family agenda. Precision DM

9:45 Nurhamizan Yussop - Wells & PT Data Tech - Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd Improving well head data by developing a well head reports Engineers Data Model Talk Description. Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) needed to improve reliability of wellhead data and efficiency in records management as in the past: • Wellhead diagrams were not verified, not approved or in discrepancy with the wellhead actually on site • Number of valves on paper did not match the number of valves on wellhead on site. • Spare parts sent to site is wrong due to wrong information found in wellhead data sheet This lead to increased cost, man hours and operations down time. To address the issue, BSP technical data management team worked with the drilling department, completion and well intervention team, to create a well head reports Engineers Data Model (EDM) for wells drilled and completed in 2017.
