How Malaysia is leading the way with data science and data architecture

The second day of our Kuala Lumpur event brings the Malaysia oil and gas industry together to discuss opportunities for data scientists and other data specialists in the oil and gas industry, (The first day focusses on opportunities for organisations - see the agenda here).

We aim to help explain and further understanding about the complex digital world and where the business benefits are.

Oil and gas companies, like most large organisations in 2018, are working hard to improve their competence working with data. We use the word 'data architect' to mean the person involved in making sure the right piece of information gets to the right place, in the right format for maximum value.

If organisations can improve their profitability through better digital technology (see separate event on the previous day), there should be improved opportunities - employability and salary - for people who develop the necessary skills. This includes skills in different technologies, such as graph databases, analytics and data management, and also domain skills - what is required to build and maintain an effective IT architecture and digital system.

This event is a satellite event of Malaysia Big Data Week on October 2-8 2018
