Addressing the challenges of an extended supply chain

Talk Description.
An important objective of the Norwegian petroleum policy has been to develop an internationally competitive oil and gas industry based in Norway. As companies continue to expand their global operations and operate in ever more remote locations the challenges of managing the extended supply chain associated with these activities become more onerous

We will explore effective solutions that can be employed that will allow you to know globally which equipment and materials are critical to operations and their location and status at any given time, helping you to prioritise, manage and expedite these in a timely manner.

Don Valentine is Operations Director at Absoft and head of the company’s Oil & Gas business division. Don has been working in IT within the oil and gas sector for over 20 years and is a specialist in supply chain solution architecture.

Scott Hawkins - President, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder - ASCI

Improving MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) inventory management

Talk Description.
Most oil and gas operators and many contractors have the potential for tremendous improvement in the performance of their MRO inventories. By utilizing leading edge analytics tools to optimize stock, an unusual combination of reduced holding costs and improved inventory service levels is easily achievable. This, in turn, improves equipment up-time and builds trust with maintenance, operations and senior management. The key lies in analyzing and optimizing inventory reorder levels in your ERP system according to strata of criticality, item cost and item usage levels while factoring in inventory related transaction and holding costs. In this way, the performance of the entire supply chain can be improved. We will explore the critical success factors in the use of inventory analytics tools and share insights from relevant case studies.

Scott Hawkins is President, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Advanced Supply Chain International, LLC and Asset Management Services, LLC. In this capacity Mr. Hawkins managed Alaska supplier performance management programs in support of the Alaska oil industry. Mr. Hawkins is also co-founder and managing director of HAI Shirokuma Tours, a tour company specializing in the Japanese visitor market.

In addition to the activities described above, Mr. Hawkins is a founder and past president of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, a private, non-profit group devoted to local economic development issues.
