China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is one of the largest integrated energy groups in the world, headquartered in China. CNPC is engaged in hydrocarbon exploration and production operations, onshore and offshore, in 34 countries in APAC, Africa, South America, the Middle East and Central Asia-Russia.
CNPC's Tarim Oilfield, which lies to the south of the Tianshan mountain, in northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur region, is China's largest oil and gas bearing basin. It is one of the starting points of China's west-east natural gas transmission projects.
