Geoprober Drilling

Geoprober Drilling is developing a deepwater exploration drilling system deployed from a mono-hull vessel. Geoprober is designing, building & testing proprietary surface & subsea drilling technology. By combining this with casing drilling and coiled tubing drilling technology we are developing a complete slim “finder” well system including the surface handling equipment.

This will speed up operations, improve data acquisition options and reduce the environmental impact of exploration.

Geoprober Deepwater System was funded jointly by Chevron & Statoil.

The project is now exclusively funded by Statoil, who will deploy the first part of the system in 2011 in Norway using their subsea intervention BOP stack.
