IOGP is the voice of the international oil and gas industry. It is an industry that continues to provide a significant proportion of the world's energy to meet growing demands for heat, light and transport.
Our Members produce more than half the world's oil and about one third of its gas. They operate in all the oil producing regions of the world - North America, South and Central America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Russia & Caspian region, Asia & Australia.
The Association encompasses most of the world's leading publicly-traded, private and state-owned oil and gas companies, industry associations and major upstream service companies.

IOGP releases EPSG coordinate reference systemdefinitions
The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) has announced an upgrade to its EPSG online registry of geodetic parameters www.epsg-registry.org. The online registry now includes the facility to export coordinate reference systems (CRS) and coordinate transformation definitions in well-known text (WKT) format that conforms to ISO 19162.

OGP to drive Earth Observation uptake in the Industry
The International Association of Oil and Gas Producers has set up a new body with the goal of increasing the industry's use of Earth satellite and airborne imagery, a key tool that will improve emergency response and also make exploration and production more efficient.
