Our second Digital Energy Journal 'Doing More with Subsurface Data' conference in Stavanger on May 6 was for developing and sharing expertise about better ways to work with subsurface data to improve production and recovery.

This includes ways you can help your company to do more with its subsurface data - to make better development decisions, improve well placement and reduce drilling costs - and keep geophysicists and geologist happier at the same time.

With speakers from Dong Energy, CGG Data Management, Roxar, New Digital Business, Geocap and LMKR, topics to be covered include the best way to manage petrophysics data, managing subsurface data archives, creating models while interpreting and continually updating velocity models, avoiding common E&P governance traps, and supporting the way younger geoscientists work.

Talk Description.
- Getting seismic interpreters involved in seismic framework model
- Combining interpretation and modelling into one step
- Keep the velocity model in synchronization with both seismic interpretation and the geo-model
- Special attention is made to the velocity model - as this can be a challenge when updating models with new data.
After a couple of years spent dealing with exploration and research projects in two major Oil and Gas companies, I came to Roxar in order to get a better understanding of the production and field development challenges. I've been involved in a number of key Norwegian and international projects, providing geologists and reservoir engineers technical assistance to use our reservoir modeling solution and get the best value from their data. I'm now working in sales in order to maintain excellent relationships with our customers and bring to the market our new and innovative technologies

Roxar is an international technology company supplying to the oil & gas industry. The company develops solutions for reservoir management and production optimisation for oil & gas companies challenged with maximising returns from their reservoir assets. Roxar is a business unit of Emerson Process Management.
