How to reduce lifecycle information (LCI) costs and improve quality at the same time

Watch Video
Talk Description.
- Benefits of integrating LCI computer systems with the rest of the company's information systems
- How better LCI can help improve cost predictability of capital projects

Lifecycle information management costs have been identified as a major cost driver in offshore developments on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. These costs must come down, but does this mean less LCI, or better LCI? Modest investments in integration of LCI with enterprise IT and operational IT can produce better predictability in capital projects and modifications and allow optimization of production, maintenance and logistics. LCI should be managed together with the rest of the company’s information assets and be part of a coherent information architecture.

Making Data Work - Finding better ways to manage offshore documents and data over the asset lifecycle

Watch Video
Talk Description.
With COMOS, Siemens provides the perfect answer to the challenges of managing data and document integrity during the plant and project lifecycles. The solution is to achieve a seamless flow of information across all involved functions: from process design, basic and detail engineering to commissioning, training, operations and modernization, making data work. COMOS provides a foundation for establishing this data to work by combining the traditionally split system functionalities such as engineering tools, document management, maintenance management system, LCI, Engineering Numbering systems into the same platform.

Additionally, COMOS provides a tailored set of solutions that support efficient commissioning and operation. For example, COMOS Walkinside instantly links a virtual reality model with current plant information. The software solution displays the current status of a plant with a 3D simulation that is virtually true to life. The advanced 3D visualization supports plant commissioning and operator and staff training by providing a virtual reality environment.
With COMOS, a comprehensive spectrum of intelligent software solutions, Siemens offers the world''s only platform for highest data transparency, consistency and actuality across the complete lifecycle of a process plant. This opens up completely new horizons in efficient plant management and the highest decision safety in real time. It creates the ideal framework for enterprises to increase their efficiency and innovative power systematically. You can read more about COMOS here: www.siemens.com/comos

Digitizing a large brownfield plant and exploiting the value of the digital plant asset part 1

Watch Video
Talk Description.
Many owner operators are beginning to clearly understand the benefits they could realize by truly managing their engineering information and enabling the various functions and disciplines to leverage trustworthy engineering information for their day-to-day operational activities.
In a recent survey, approximately 60 percent of owner operators said that ready access to trustworthy information is most critical for process safety management, maintenance, reliability, and modification-related activities. On the other hand, the same percentage of owner operator personnel are not completely confident that they would be able to quickly locate appropriate engineering information in an emergency

Digitizing a large brownfield plant and exploiting the value of the digital plant asset - part 2

On the other hand, the same percentage of owner operator personnel are not completely confident that they would be able to quickly locate appropriate engineering information in an emergency situation. Using a real-world example at one of the world’s largest power plants, this session will discuss three key questions that most owner operators are grappling:
• How can you incrementally create an effective, accurate engineering information asset for brownfield plants that have been operational for many years?
• How can you minimize the cost and schedule to capture the digital plant asset?
• How can you maximize the value of that engineering information?
If you are an owner operator with brownfield facilities and thinking about strategies for digital assets, or if your company is delivering services in this context, you should attend this keynote
