In the beginning, BSP has been struggling to keep pace on providing a quality and accessible document within the agreed timeframe. There are several occurrences where BSP projects executed however documents are poorly managed which has a direct impact when exploring for new hydrocarbon
opportunities.

Internal audits have been conducted where BSP consistently being poor on governance, a centralize area and clear roles and responsibility. The audit outcome has given us the opportunity to rethink, evaluate and replicate the collaboration concept into a digital environment. With this concept, we start developing Collaborative Project Area (CPA) Sharepoint solution to ensure that the
Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP) is a dynamic, world-class company and one of the biggest energy companies in Asia. We have a long history in Brunei of more than 87 years and we are at the leading edge of technology. We put safety and environment at the heart of everything we do and invest in the people and community of Brunei.

Case Study: How can Digital Transformation help me handle information overload? (Via Skype)

Talk Description.
A multinational integrated oil and gas company and one of the seven "Supermajor" oil company in this acquired a large oil and gas company to strengthen its portfolio in a number of geographies. As a result of the acquisition, an entire oil company’s 4 Pb data set, amounting to more than 300M files, needed to be quickly and efficiently absorbed and integrated.

This case study shows how the organisation absorbed a vast amount of content and deployed content clean-up, classification and analytics techniques to deliver relevant content to support the technical project teams.

Flare was engaged to assist with the effort by leveraging a number of proprietary techniques to understand what was in the data set, define how it should be handled, and develop a go- forward strategy.

The presentation will provide an overview of the challenges addressed in handling such a huge influx of data, documents and other content, residing in non-connected infrastructures within a limited time frame, while maintaining business as usual.
We provide Information Management consultancy, services and software solutions to the upstream industry, including oil and gas companies, from super-majors to small independents, service providers, regulators and government agencies. We provide trusted Information Management (IM) advice, services and tools that help our clients achieve business goals through more effective management of their information
