Accenture to provide application management services to Shell

Thursday, July 3, 2014

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been awarded a multi-year managed services contract by Shell to support engineering, production and process control across its upstream and downstream operations.

Under the terms of the agreement, Accenture will provide Shell’s Project & Technology (P&T) organisation with application management services, which will include the support, as well as maintenance, enhancement and deployment of more than 260 applications in the areas of engineering and real-time data-analytics of production operations and process control.

Accenture will support and maintain applications such as Oracle Primavera, Intergraph® SmartPlant® and OSIsoft’s PI System.

Accenture’s Global Delivery Network locations in India will be used to optimise the support of delivery operations and create an IT deployment engine.

“Effective and efficient management of production operations and capital projects is a huge challenge for the energy industry, as these assets and projects grow in scale and complexity. Maximising value from the investments is becoming increasingly critical,” said Jan van den Bremen, managing director and global account lead for Shell in Accenture’s energy industry group. “Accenture looks forward to working with Shell’s P&T organisation and supporting its assets to further optimise production.”
