China Oilfield Services implements SpecTec's fleet management software

China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) has agreed to implement the "AMOS" fleet management software from SpecTec of Italy.

It will implement the software onboard a 3000 meter semi-submersible drilling platform (COSL 981), delivered in 2011, as well as onboard two jack-up drilling rigs (HYSY936 and HYSY942).

The contract includes supply of databases and consultancy.

The software can be used for managing maintenance, purchasing and safety.

COSL is now using AMOS on 11 rigs in total.

COSL claims to be the leading integrated oilfield services provider in the offshore China market. It provides geophysical services, drilling services, well services, marine support and transportation services.

The company has the largest fleet of offshore oilfield services facilities in China, including 31 drilling rigs of which 27 are jack-up drilling rigs and 4 are semi-submersible drilling rigs. Also 2 accommodation rigs, 4 module rigs and 6 land drilling rigs. In addition, COSL also owns and operates 75 working vessels, oil tankers, 5 chemical carriers, 9 seismic vessels, 4 surveying vessels.
