Geophysics hackathon in New Orleans - Oct 17-18

Tuesday, September 15, 2015

Agile Geoscience, a company based in Montreal focussed on geoscience and data, is organising the 'Geophysics Hackathon' in New Orleans on October 17-18, before the annual Society of Exploration Geophysics (SEG) annual meeting.

You can join as an individual or part of a team, and spend the weekend working on geoscience projects and coming up with new ideas.

The organisers describe it as "the most creative geoscience event of the year."

You can spend the first morning finding projects to work on, and show what you have done to other participants at the end of the second day.

It is open to both programmers and g+g professionals such as interpreters and reservoir engineers.

There is no fee to participate, you just bring a laptop. The event is held at Propeller, a business incubator building in New Orleans.
