Global IP provides satellite broadband in Indian Ocean

Global IP, a supplier of satellite communications for the energy and maritime industries based in Spain, has signed an agreement with Intelsat enabling it to provide Ku band satellite communications coverage for the Indian Ocean.


It will use capacity on Intelsat 22 at 72° East, Intelsat 702 at 33° East satellites.

Terrestrial communications will be made over the IntelsatOne network.

GlobalIP will place its DVB-S2 data communications platform at Intelsat's teleport in Fuchstadt, Germany.

'These agreements add multiple strategic beams to our global network that are highly optimized for advanced mobility applications in the Indian Ocean region,' said Jesus Barber, general manager for Global IP.
