INOVA assigns new vice president of digital sensors

INOVA Geophysical has promoted Dr. Arjun Selvakumar to Vice President of Digital Sensors.

INOVA''s digital sensor technology, VectorSeis is the multicomponent sensor offered as a part of INOVA''s Broadband solution that captures the full seismic wavefield and provides E&P''s imaging for strategic drilling programs.

Prior to joining INOVA, Selvakumar served as vice president of product development for Colibrys, Inc., a global supplier of Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) based sensors, and when the company consolidated to Switzerland, he held the position of director of engineering of the digital sensor product line for ION Geophysical/INOVA from 2009-2013. In these roles, Selvakumar was instrumental in directing engineering teams on product design, development, quality control, and resource optimization which drove the launch of the ML21/MT21 Digital Sensor. His experience also includes overseeing all operations, research and product development of the MEMS engineering group for Applied MEMS, Inc.

Selvakumar earned his Ph.D. and Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, and has a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, in Trichy, India. Additionally, Selvakumar holds seven MEMS technology-based patents and has been a contributor to a variety of MEMS journals, presenting over 20 technical presentations on this topic.
