Ingrain contract from Colombia to digitise core

Friday, August 24, 2012

Houston digital rock physics laboratory Ingrain has won a contract by the Colombian government's National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) to digitize and characterize the agency's core archive.

From the analysis, ANH should get a much better understanding of Colombia's basins, and make a better assessment of potential.

Ingrain will characterize thousands of meters of whole core currently being stored at ANH's National Core Repository (Litoteca Nacional de Colombia).

It will use its expertise in reservoir rock analysis, and state-of-the-art equipment from Carl Zeiss.

The project will also create a digital database that will make the data readily accessible and preserve important information of the core for future use.
