KADME is 10

Friday, February 24, 2012

Stavanger oil and gas data management company KADME has celebrated its 10th birthday.

The company aims to work out ways to manage geoscience data using modern web technologies.

It developed the "Whereoil" software platform to be used for information management in exploration and production, providing easy access to information stored in a range of different locations and formats.

'It's been an incredible journey thus far, from that first consulting job in Pakistan to transitioning into the international organization we are today," says Gianluca Monachese, founder and director of business development.

Initially, 'our vision of becoming the most innovative provider of information management solutions to the oil and gas industry wasn't taken seriously by many people,' he says.

'But today most people agree that KADME has achieved that goal with a software platform that solves many information management issues, from those of the small oil company with ten employees to those of the biggest National Data Repositories.'

'We had the freedom to believe in something, like Whereoil, and bring it to life,' says Vasily Borisov, KADME Director of Technology.

'We took the principle, created the prototype, and then commercialized it into a meaningful innovation. You can't do that in just any company.'

"In the beginning it was difficult to find local Norwegians to fill our openings,' says Synnøve Vea, Board Member and Project Manager. 'Now we can be proud of our success recruiting internationally.'

In 2011, KADME signed reseller and partnership agreements with companies in South America, Asia and Australia. In 2012, KADME will expand sales in North America and renew its focus on the Nordic region.

'KADME foresees a period of significant growth over the next five years,' says Kjell-Arne Bjerkhaug, managing director. We "will continue to expand geographically and take our technology platform into other industries.'
