KADME's Scout Web system to simplify data registration, trades and reporting

Thursday, February 28, 2013

KADME, a provider of information management software and services to the oil and gas industry, announces in conjunction with the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association (Norsk olje og gass, formerly 'OLF') that KADME has been selected to develop an advanced well-data and scouting portal for the Scout Group.

The portal, called Scout Web, will be integrated into the Association's Geodata Trading Operator (GTO) unit, which oversees the scouting functions for registering and monitoring members' well data and trades.

The Norwegian Oil and Gas Association's Scout Group continues to improve data trading and information sharing by migrating and enhancing their collaboration portal into Scout Web. This new system, developed and maintained by KADME, is built on the Whereoil software platform. Scout Web improves existing functionality, such as registering new wells to be drilled, and adds functionality to register, follow-up and report on the status of trade-related data. As a result, collaboration and communication amongst the Scouts and between the Scouts and the GTO will be greatly improved.

According to KADME Project Manager Synnøve Vea, Scout Web goes live this spring and will serve around 50 oil companies in Norway. Scout Web incorporates the NPD Bluebook standard for well data to ensure compliance with official guidelines. It also connects to the Diskos (Petrobank) database, thereby automating otherwise labour-intensive tasks and providing Scouts updated information on the availability of trade-related data.

Scout Web will be presented this May at the PNEC International Conference on Petroleum Data Integration, Data and Information Management in Houston, Texas, in the technical track, 'Data and Information Management - Cases, Best Practices and Developments.'
