LMKR announces release of new version of GeoGraphix 2015

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Subsurface software company LMKR has released a 2015 version of its geoscience software GeoGraphix, with the theme "enabling geoscientists to do more while spending less".

Companies are changing their focus from exploration to production optimisation, LMKR says, which means they are focussing on maximising recoveries, reducing cycle time (between identifying prospects and starting production) and reducing production costs.

The Geographix 2015 software aims to help staff make fast decisions using accurate data.

Companies are also expecting that technology previously considered specialist is made available for all members of the asset team, LMKR says.

The new software has a focus on increasing the accuracy of reservoir interpretation.

The software also has functionality to display field plans in Google Earth or Bing Maps.

It has tools to display the subsurface scene geologically, including geomodelled 3D surfaces and well to well cross sections.

You can also display the scene geophysically, with depth converted seismic horizons and fault displays.

A range of payment options are available including pay by the use and pay as you go.

The company estimates that the software cost is 30 per cent less than comparable offerings.
