Merrick launches production management and accounting software

Friday, October 19, 2012

Houston oil and gas software company Merrick has launched a new software platform for oil and gas production management and hydrocarbon accounting.

Merrick's production operations and accounting software is already used to manage data for 20 per cent of oil and gas wells in the US.

The new platform was launched at its annual user group meeting in Houston.

The software has tools for capturing data in the field, validating, analysing, allocating, visualising and reporting production data, on a daily and monthly basis.

It was developed on Microsoft .net Silverlight, and there is a web interface to view the data.

"Oil and gas production teams today face .. a growing number of wells to manage, increasing pace of operations and heavy volumes of field data that must be processed and analyzed to optimize operations are continuous challenges," says Clara Fuge, VP Production Division at Merrick.

"These are intensified even more in unconventional and shale operations."

"Increasing regulatory reporting requirements at the state and federal levels are also adding a burden on production teams.

"Tasks such as tracking produced water or managing massive volumes of run tickets consume massive amounts of time and resources.

"Merrick Production Manager provides oil and gas producers a single system to address all these needs, optimize their operations and stay in compliance with regulatory agencies."
