Merrick software for "run tickets"

Friday, October 19, 2012

Houston oil and gas software company Merrick has developed new software for managing "run tickets", documents completed by oil transporters or purchasers, showing how much oil was removed from an oil well location.

Having a software based system should make it easier to capture the data and reconcile it against production data, which should help close books faster.

Some production operations, accounting and field personnel have to handle and reconcile "thousands" of run tickets every month, Merrick says.

Producers typically need to close their books for oil within the first 5 days of the month, the company says.

'In some areas like the Bakken, Eagle Ford, and Wattenberg, field operators are entering hundreds of run tickets a month, and back in the office, production analysts are reconciling thousands', says Clara Fuge, VP Production Division in Merrick.

'You need software that makes it easy to enter the tickets and you need to be able to spot missing or incorrect tickets.'

The software alerts you when critical information which production and revenue accounting need is missing.
