Michael Jegen appointed Executive VP of Calgary oil and gas software company

Boyd Russell, President and Founder of Calgary-based Energy Navigator today announced the appointment of Michael Jegen as the company's new Executive Vice President. The appointment became effective December 1, 2014, and is part of the company's long-range strategic plan for managing anticipated growth in Canadian, US and International markets.

'I am so pleased to be able to announce Michael's appointment to the position of Executive Vice President,' said Mr. Russell. 'As one of our first and longest-serving employees, Michael is both the past and the future of Energy Navigator. He has helped shape our products and has had a major influence on how we have developed as a company.'

Mr. Jegen becomes Executive Vice President after serving as Vice President Development since 2008. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his career as a software engineer with Energy Navigator and, for the past 16 years, has been responsible for implementing improved software development practices and researching new technologies that drive development of Energy Navigator's software products. Michael's commitment to teamwork and innovation has resulted in two high-performing software development teams whose products - AFE Navigator and Value Navigator - continually enhance the ability of oil and gas engineering, operations and asset management professionals to work more efficiently and effectively, forecast more accurately, extend production, and manage costs.

'With current commodity prices, it's more important than ever for our clients to have reliable software tools that deliver maximum usability, smooth workflows, and absolute accuracy,' stated Mr. Jegen. 'The way we see it, our job is to develop software that helps E&P companies increase their margins, no matter what the price of oil and gas.'
