Minimum training safety program in Vietnamise, Thai and Indonesian

Friday, October 5, 2012

The International Minimum Industry Safety Training (IMIST) program is now available in Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian.

The program is provided online by training company Atlas, and developed by the oil and gas training standards body OPITO.

The course assesses basic safety knowledge in nine subject areas, helping the offshore industry meet regulatory compliance obligations. It has been tailored to meet each region's specific workforce.

The programme aims to ensure that all oil and gas employees are trained to the same standard.

'South East Asia is a fast growing energy market with an abundance of natural resources currently being explored. The translation of the IMIST initiative into Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian will support the workers and help improve competency in the region," says John Rowley, CEO of Atlas.

IMIST has also been translated into Hindi, Arabic, Bahasa Malay and French.
