Nessco "on track" to double turnover

Friday, December 9, 2011

Aberdeen oil and gas telecoms integration company Nessco Group reports that it is "on track" to double its turnover this year to £34m, following successful contracts in the UK Iraq, West Africa and the Middle East.

It created 40 jobs in 2011, and now has a total workforce of 130, and expects another 20 jobs in 2012.

The company was recently visited by Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing.

The company has recently secured contracts in the North Sea, Iraq, West Africa, Brazil and Middle East worth more than £23 million.

The work includes systems for both upstream Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSOs) and downstream plants.

In the UK Continental Shelf the company has been awarded new projects in the Golden Eagle, Clipper and Forties fields.

'Our strategy of continuing to invest during the challenging times has paid off this year with turnover doubling, significant new export contracts and the recruitment of skilled engineers and technicians," says Ian McPherson, managing director.

"The business has been built on a reputation for robust quality, giving clients reassurance that their vital offshore systems are protected around the clock and subsequently our growth is testament to that success.'

Nessco has made a considerable investment in its VSAT services (very-small-aperture terminal) and specialist support for UKCS operations at its Westhill base. There has been a recent upgrade in infrastructure and local 24/7 helpdesk and the addition of new staff with specialist telecommunication skills.
