PanAmerican Geophysical buys Sercel system

Thursday, November 1, 2012

Seismic acquisition services company PanAmerican Geophysical has bought a UNITE cable-free seismic acquisition system from Sercel of France.

PanAmerican Geophysical provides land and well seismic services in North and South America, with operating companies in Colombia, Canada and Argentina. The company is headquartered in Jersey (UK).

It has bought a three channel system called "RAU-3".

The RAU-3 UNITE units can record one component or 3 component analogue data.

The system is scheduled to be first deployed in a seismic survey in the Amazon river, in late October.

"The ability for real-time quality control, the radio harvesting and the seamless integration into the Sercel 428XL were key drivers in our decision to purchase the UNITE System," says Mark Farine, CEO, PanAmerican Geophysical.
