Petrosys and geoLOGIC integrate services

Friday, March 9, 2012

Oil and gas software and data services companies Petrosys and geoLOGIC have integrated their services together, so that Petrosys E&P software will be able to retrieve data directly from the geoLOGIC gDC data store.

The gDC data store includes data about well headers, directional surveys and production.

This data can now be viewed on the maps and 3D visualisation tools in the Petrosys software, and input directly into Petrosys surface modelling operations.

This means that subscribers to gDC data can use the Petrosys software to work with it.

The data integration was built in Calgary. It was easier to do because both gDC and Petrosys use the PPDM well data model.

'Our existing PPDM based data accessing required only minimal tailoring to work with the gDC data,' says Susan Hopkin, senior database administrator at Petrosys.

'Much of the configuration time involved extending our interface into detailed production tables that we had not previously supported'.

'Due to their extensive experience with PPDM standards, Petrosys required little technical support from geoLOGIC' says Lori Adams, gDC manager with geoLOGIC.
