Pipeline design software from New Century

Friday, January 6, 2012

New Century Software of Fort Collins, Colorado, has launched new software which makes it easier to design pipelines, for upstream oil and gas companies.

The software runs on the Esri ArcMap mapping software.

The software can be used to work out where the centre of the pipeline will go, taking data from GPS co-ordinates, survey features, and existing centreline data.

You can show the different sections of the pipeline, and "high consequence areas" it goes through.

You can also obtain specific location information for any location along the pipeline.

'We have been listening to the industry and to what operators are struggling with,' says Todd Porter, VP of Business Development at New Century Software.

"There are certain tasks that Operators must be able to perform with little to no impact on their internal resources.
