Sercel-GRC celebrates 100 years as an innovator in well technology

Sercel-GRC, a leading oil and gas service company that designs, manufactures and delivers advanced downhole data acquisition tools and surface equipment, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, marking a century of providing innovative well monitoring and data solutions to operators around the world.

Founded in 1925 as the Geophysical Research Corporation (GRC), now part of Sercel, the company pioneered groundbreaking technology that shaped downhole monitoring and artificial lift processes for generations. From the invention of the first mechanical recording pressure gauge, the Amerada® Bomb, in 1931 to their latest advancements including the fully water-tight Spy Pro electric submersible pump (ESP) gauge and the Amerada P3.5 permanent downhole gauge, Sercel-GRC continues to lead the industry.

Reflecting on this achievement, Tom Millar, Sercel-GRC vice president of marketing and international sales, said, 'Reaching our 100-year milestone is more than a landmark in time. It's a reflection of our commitment to delivering reliable data, adapting and evolving with the industry and building trust among our customers. This year, we are taking this opportunity to reconnect and develop new relationships as we continue to be recognized for providing reliable data solutions from monitoring and surveillance to analytics, improving the value of assets for our customers.'

To commemorate this anniversary, Sercel-GRC will host a special celebration during this year's SPE Gulf Coast Section Electric Submersible Pumps Symposium which is being held August 25 - 29 in Galveston, Texas. The event will offer an opportunity for everyone who attends the event to celebrate Sercel-GRC's legacy and its contributions to the industry.

Sercel-GRC continues to provide critical technologies for a variety of well applications, including monitoring, ESPs, gas lift systems, progressive cavity pumps, and sucker rod pumps. The company remains committed to going 'Beyond the Gauge' to support oilfield operators and enable them to make better production decisions.
