TOTAL UK information storage contract with Iron Mountain

Friday, February 17, 2012

Total E&P UK has signed a 10 year contract with information management company Iron Mountain, to preserve its physical information assets.

This includes core samples, seismic sections, surveys, tapes, maps, and exploration reports.

The items need to be stored to comply with UK government guidelines.

Iron Mountain provides a specialist information service for the oil and gas industry, helping with preparation, handling and preservation of samples.

'Total E&P UK (TEP UK) creates vast amounts of information which needs to be maintained for the long term. Given the volume, complexity and nature of the data we have, it is not optimal for us to do this in-house.' explains Ton Ruijgrok, TEP UK.

'By continuing to work with Iron Mountain and entering into this ten-year agreement, our information is preserved in line with our requirements, and is available to the community when needed.'
