Tiandi Energy - geoscientists available on demand

Friday, June 15, 2012

Tiandi Energy of Houston has developed a new service, to provide geoscientists and engineering professionals on demand.

The company is able to supply reservoir engineers, geologists, petrophysicists, and geophysicists, as well as data management engineers, digitization techs and other engineering specialists.

It has both young professionals and 'seasoned professionals', the company says.

According to company president and COO Richard Ward, oil companies often find that when they are ready to start work on a new project, "only a small number of [qualified geo-scientists and engineering professionals] are available at any given time within your organization, and third-party consultants are booked for months, or don't have the required number of engineers available."

The company's staff have worked on 85 major projects in the past 18 months, in the US, Europe and South America, working for oil majors, national oil companies, US and European independents, and major service companies, he says.

Projects the company has been involved with include:

Cleaning, repairing and loading Log data for 4500 wells in 101 days for a $3bn shale acquisition.

Executing a seismic-to-simulation project in 79 days from raw 2D data and making well location recommendations to partners.

Researching and filing 1554 offset well diagrams to accelerate Drilling Permit applications.
