Updated RESQML v2.1 release candidate available for public review and comment

Friday, July 1, 2016

RESQML release candidate 2 resolves two small but important issues uncovered since the initial release candidate was made public.

First, in upgrading all the Energistics standards to the next generation, it was decided to remove the prefixes from most of the names of the classes and attributes, except for the obj_ at the beginning of the names of the data object files and types. This was inconsistent with the names as shown in the UML diagrams and has proven to be problematic for the other Energistics standards so the decision has been made to remove the obj_ as well. Please note that this change also results in fewer files in release candidate version 2.

Second, the way RESQML handles properties has been simplified. This change was made in RESQML so that the other Energistics standards could re-use the same schema for describing properties. The new PropertyKind class has been placed in common so all the Energistics standards can easily use it and has replaced the previous classes specific to RESQML.

The new release candidate also collects together recent updates to the parts of all Energistics standards held in common which are not really used by RESQML but which appear in the common schema nonetheless.
