Version 2.0 of the Blueback Geodata Investigator from Blueback Reservoir

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Blueback Reservoir announced the release of version 2.0 of the Blueback Geodata Investigator plug-in for Petrel.

The Blueback Geodata Investigator plug-in for Petrel brings long awaited powerful cross-domain data analysis to Petrel. Detailed data analysis is required at all stages of the Petrel workflow, and the Blueback Geodata Investigator addresses the requirements of the geomodeler and the geophysicist.

Version 2.0 expands the number of dimensions in the investigation and adds special spatial dimensional support, allowing the user to include X, Y and time/depth in the data analysis. In addition, the new version brings in two new data plotting windows into Petrel - the Matrix window and the Parallel coordinates plot - which are both ideal to help the user understand the potential complexity more dimensions will bring. Furthermore, with version 2.0, data points can now be classified which opens up for numerous classification workflows.

''The new version of the Blueback Geodata Investigator is a major release. With a tight dialog with our users and a dedicated and experienced development team working on the new release, we are really proud to have created a powerful data analysis tool that we believe all Petrel users will benefit from. Data analysis of both the input data (well logs, seismic) and reservoir models (3D grids and properties) is very important to ensure quality and getting the right results.'' said Pål Hovdenak, Manager for the Blueback Reservoir Software Portfolio.
