Veteran E&P Technology Executive, Robert E. Best, Joins Noah Consulting

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Noah Consulting, an award-winning provider of energy information management services, announced today that Robert E. Best, Jr. will join as a senior principal and subject-matter expert for the E&P practice team in January 2015

Best recently served as Executive VP and CTO for PetroWEB, a software company that develops geographic information-based solutions for the oil and gas industry. After PetroWEB's purchase of Neuralog's NeuraDB, he led the effort to integrate the technology into PetroWEB's product line. This resulted in PetroWEB's new Enterprise DB product, a Corporate Well Master, Well Log Repository and Well File Management system built on the PPDM data model.

Neuralog was co-founded by Best in 1991 to address the industry's lack of technology to convert maps and well logs into digital form. As President and CEO, he grew the company from a startup to $13 million in sales. In 2013, he sold his interest in Neuralog to the remaining co-founder.

With an in-depth knowledge of geology, petrophysics, geophysics, drilling and the entire well lifecycle, Best is a sought after contributor at industry conferences. Committed to leveraging industry standard models to develop solutions based on proven success, he has served as Vice Chair of the PPDM Association's Board of Directors for over three years. The PPDM Association is a global, not-for-profit organization that works collaboratively with the industry to create data management standards.

'I have served with Robert on the PPDM Board of Directors and am excited to have his expertise on the team,' said Fred Kunzinger, Noah Consulting E&P Practice Lead. 'His leadership experience combined with his intimate knowledge of the E&P business will build upon our already impressive capabilities.'
