qedi office in Calgary for project management software

Thursday, November 17, 2011

qedi, a subsidiary company of engineering and project management giant AMEC, has set up an office in Calgary, to sell its project management software.

qedi already has offices in Aberdeen, Azerbaijan, Dubai, Kazakhstan, Houston and Australasia.

qedi sells the 'Go Technology' hub of project management software. It can be used to manage the handover and commissioning process of a (newly constructed) asset.

There is a growing interest from oil sands operators in the software, qedi says, using the software to manage data through the construction cycle.

The software gathers the data required to verify integrity of the plant and equipment before start-up.

The company anticipates doubling the size of its business in Canada within a year, and will recruit 20 engineers for its Calgary office.

The office will be located in AMEC's building in Calgary and will be managed by Martyn Canham, previously manager of qedi's operation in Kazakhstan, where 350 people are employed.
